It’s one of those off-weeks here where mom is just pretty much out-of-commission and we’re mostly “unschooling.” The kids like it.
Spelling, math, violin continue. Lots of reading. But it’s too cold to be outside much, and the pain I’m in is keeping me from focusing on our regular plans, so we’re also doing some random fun things to pass the time, like playing with GOOP. (Cornstarch and water.)
This is also fun to do outside on a nice summer day, which makes clean-up a bit easier, but it does wipe up easily with water. Food coloring is optional – I leave it out when I’m not in the mood for the extra mess that could be. You can provide child-size aprons and have the kids pull up their sleeves before they get started. Ask if they think the mixture is a liquid or a solid!
