For Elementary Students:

In addition to some great books at the library, we purchased this perfect little book from Sonlight.  It is called Simon Bolivar the Liberator, by Frank de Varona.

This hard-back Usborne book is a great spine for elementary students. It has 2-page spreads for a variety of different topics. The first several spreads cover basic archaeology and the earliest civilizations. The book covers basic elements of world history up to (but not including) World War I. Page 185 begins the story of Simon Bolivar.

A story about a South American tribe visited by a missionary in the 20th century, and would be a read-aloud to elementary children, or a high-school level reader:
