A very informational book with many useful maps:
This is a “coloring book” for older children, with large, beautiful drawings and information about the Lewis & Clark expedition. For the child who loves art, especially colored pencils:
I have this book from 1959 – I’ll let you know what I think after we read it this fall!
This hard-back Usborne book is a great spine for elementary students. It has 2-page spreads for a variety of different topics. The first several spreads cover basic archaeology and the earliest civilizations. The book covers basic elements of world history up to (but not including) World War I.
